Jugend Eine Welt – Don Bosco Entwicklungszusammenarbeit
Reinhard Heiserer is the CEO / director of Jugend Eine Welt – Don Bosco Entwicklungszusammenarbeit, an Austrian aid organization that is dedicated to helping improve the life prospects of children and young people living at the margins of society around the world, since 1997. Reinhard Heiserer was born on October 18, 1964 in Tyrol, Austria.
After his apprenticeship and work experiences as an electrical engineer, Reinhard Heiserer went to Ecuador in 1991 as an employee of the Austrian Development Service (ÖED – today Horizon 3000), where he worked at a street children’s and vocational training center of the Salesians of Don Bosco. His work and experiences in Ecuador had laid the foundation, which later build up to Jugend Eine Welt and in 1997 the organisation was established. The idea was to give Don Bosco’s work greater recognition within Austria and to gain more support for Don Bosco projects worldwide. To this date, Jugend Eine Welt continues to pursue this goal. Under the motto „Education overcomes poverty“, the organisation supports aid projects, street children programs, and educational projects in Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe. In addition to his role as managing director and chairman of the board of Jugend Eine Welt, he is also a board member of the Jugend Eine Welt non-profit private foundation, board member of the association Volontariat Bewegt and a representative of FAIRTRADE.
Mr. Heiserer is also member of the board at CRIC (https://cric-online.org/) in order to promote and create impact investments, be it through the support of microcredit institutions, or the work with cooperative organizations, which enable marginalised groups to help themselves through loans and collaborative lending structures.
